A Desperate Situation
On November 1st at 9:00 PM, Emerson Jarude, on his way to rescue a dog named Blackie, received a call from Dublin Shelter. A woman had just purchased a new house and made an unexpected discovery.
A Reunion and a Shocking Revelation
Reiki, Blackie’s sister, was taken aback when she saw a human again. The lady who bought the house informed them that it had been unoccupied for a month. This meant that both Blackie and Reiki had been locked inside for that entire time.
The Rescuer’s Heartbreak
“The sight of Blackie shattered my heart into pieces,” said the rescuer. Blackie’s emaciated body was so frail that his bones seemed ready to pierce through his skin. He was chained to a tree and couldn’t move much.
The Struggle for Survival
The question that crossed everyone’s mind was how Blackie had managed to survive for so long. It turned out that in his desperate attempts to flee, he had wounded himself.
Blackie and Reiki were rushed to the Vet Clinic. Blackie’s condition was critical, and he required a blood transfusion. In addition to his emaciation, he was plagued by ticks and fleas.
Reiki, on the other hand, was in a somewhat better state and simply needed proper nourishment.
The following day, both dogs were placed with foster volunteers who opened their hearts and homes to them. Blackie spent the entire day eating, making up for the months of neglect.
A week later, Blackie was still quite skinny, but as time passed, he underwent an incredible transformation. After just a month, he turned into the most gorgeous dog, a testament to the resilience of animals.
